At its highest level, self-acceptance is a form of self-love. People who love themselves take good care of their mind, body, and spirit.
- Nourish your mind by going back to school for that degree, requesting a “stretch” assignment at work, learning a musical instrument or a new language, or tackling crossword or Sudoku puzzles.
- Care for your body by eating healthier foods, exercising regularly, and getting ample sleep.
- Protect your spirit by setting limits and boundaries, saying no to people or activities that deplete you. Make a list of your strengths, such as: “I’m kind, a quick learner, have a good sense of humor, and am good with numbers.” Keep your list visible throughout your day.
As you learn to acknowledge and cultivate your greatness in mind, body, and spirit, you’ll find greater love and appreciation for your gifts. Remember – you are your own greatest investment, so pay into yourself to reap the tremendous rewards!
